Gender Sensitivity Initiative

Gender equality is not a standalone issue. It cuts across every area of governance — from legislation and budgets to public services and institutional culture. The Office of the Leader of the Opposition recognises that meaningful oversight must include scrutiny of whether new laws, policies, and regulations adequately protect and promote gender equality. Our research division conducts gender-sensitivity analysis of proposed legislation and government regulations, examining where gender dimensions are overlooked or inadequately addressed. Within the office itself, gender-sensitive practices are applied in administration and staffing. This initiative directly supports the office's commitment to amplifying marginalised voices and promoting equity in parliamentary processes. It ensures that gender equality is not a talking point, but a measurable standard the opposition applies consistently in its work.
