Opposition Podcast Series

Constructive opposition is not just about what the government has done wrong. It is about what should have been done instead. The Opposition Podcast Series was developed by the Research and Media Divisions of this office to create a regular, credible platform for exactly that conversation. Every two weeks, a current national issue is selected. Subject matter experts and practitioners are invited to discuss it — focusing specifically on what the best alternative approach would have been, and what priority actions should now be taken. Their recommendations are compiled, published, and broadcast on YouTube. Two episodes are produced every month. The podcast gives concrete form to the office's mandate to develop alternative policies and constructive solutions. It creates a publicly accessible body of evidence-based alternatives that directly informs the opposition's parliamentary positions and gives citizens a credible policy conversation to engage with.
