The party leaders decided to meet with the Hon. Speaker this morning to once again draw his attention to this matter. The MPs emphasized that it should be stressed to the Hon. Speaker that he bears the responsibility and accountability to create an environment where Hon. MPs of the opposition can perform their duties freely and independently, both inside and outside Parliament. The party leaders decided to request the Speaker to immediately summon the Inspector General of Police and the Director of the Ministers’ Security Division to Parliament to discuss the emerging situations. Accordingly, the party leaders met with the Speaker and informed him of these decisions and proposals.
