Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa Extends Wishes on Navaratri and Calls for Unity and Prosperity

At this moment of celebrating the Navaratri festival, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa expressed his heartfelt wish that this Navaratri marks the beginning of a better future that brings prosperity to all people. He extended his greetings to all Sri Lankan Hindu devotees, wishing them a joyful Navaratri, and prayed for a united, harmonious, peaceful, and prosperous nation where all divisions between ethnicities and religions are healed.

He made these remarks while participating in the Navaratri celebration held at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Colombo.

Hon. Premadasa noted that Hindu devotees observe these nine days with religious discipline, abstaining from meat, and seek divine blessings for personal and national prosperity. He emphasized that just as a lamp lights the way in darkness, the lamp of compassion in human life brings prosperity. Navaratri, he said, is a festival that illuminates spiritual wisdom and fosters national unity. He concluded by saying that lighting lamps during Navaratri symbolizes the dispelling of ignorance and illusion, spreading the light of wisdom. The light of hope from these lamps fosters unity, cooperation, and prosperity among people, making Navaratri a moment to overcome all divisions and differences.

Hon. Mano Ganeshan and Hindu devotees participated in the religious and cultural celebration.
