Inclution Project for Disabled and Marginal Groups

Inclution Project for Disabled and Marginal Groups -“Equal Access, Equal Justice”
Sri Lanka's social inequalities are governance failures. The exclusion of persons with disabilities, ethnic and religious minorities, women in vulnerable circumstances, and other marginalised communities from full participation in public life reflects policy gaps, institutional indifference, and the absence of rights-based legislative frameworks. The Office of the Leader of the Opposition is committed to making the rights and welfare of disabled and marginalised groups a consistent and principled part of parliamentary advocacy. Wherever the opportunity arises in the chamber, our office raises the voices of those who are least heard challenging discriminatory policy, demanding accountability for unfulfilled commitments, and proposing inclusive legislative reform. Within our own administration, we are building accessible, representative practices and planning parliamentary activities that demonstrate that inclusion is not an afterthought but a foundational value. This project reflects the office's role as a proactive oversight body one that does not wait for social crises to respond, but identifies structural exclusion early and advances constructive, rights-affirming solutions before marginalisation becomes irreversible.
